11/12/2023 0 Comments Kevin renderman golf outingUnfortunately, Kevin’s diagnosis of Lewy Body Dementia forced him to retire. Kevin was instrumental in bringing awareness to Veterans issues all over the state of Iowa working with the staff of Senator Joni Ernst and Senator Chuck Grassley. At the time of his diagnosis he was working as the Director of Veterans Affairs for Black Hawk County, Iowa. Kevin Dill was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia in 2019. Adaptive Golf Iowa will also be on site to assist and educate people about modifications that allow those with disabilities to play golf. The Dementia Simulation House from the University of Northern Iowa will have staff available to provide an opportunity for individuals to experience what dementia feels like. Events such as closest to the pin, longest drive, and other competitions will take place to raise money for Adaptive golf Iowa. In addition to the golf tournament, activities will take place on Friday, from 4-7 p.m. Checks can be mailed to Waterloo Community Foundation, PO Box 1253, 425 Cedar Street, Suite 320, Waterloo, IA 50704. Golf tournament sponsorship contributions can be made online at or by check made out to Waterloo Community Foundation with Kevin Dill Family Fund in the memo line. Teams can register online at /kevindillgolf. Lunch for golfers is provided by Blue Barn BBQ. Fat Cup Coffee and Icon Donuts will be available during registration. The four-person best-shot tournament will have a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. Contributions will be managed through the Kevin Dill Family Fund at the Waterloo Community Foundation. All proceeds will benefit Dementia Friendly Cedar Valley, American Legion #138, Combat Motorcycle Association®️ 39-6, and similar programs serving Veterans. The 2 nd Annual Kevin Dill Golf Tournament for Dementia Friendly Cedar Valley and Veterans will take place Saturday, at Gates Golf Course in Waterloo.
